Mental Health in Education

Mental health is too often a taboo subject. People don’t like to to talk about. During the Coronavirus lockdown, I collated a series of stories from educators who were willing to share their mental health journeys. To read more or to contribute pleas visit Mental Health in Education.

Global GEG Mental Health Staffroom

During Lockdown, Global GEG was founded as a way for Google Educators to support one another around the world. My contribution to Global GEG was to found the Staffroom, a series of Google Meets which provided educators an opportunity to chat and let off steam. Initially running three times a week, as the need dwindled and virtual fatigue kicked in we dropped down to weekly then monthly sessions before closing the staffroom doors in 2022.

Staffroom proved to be an effective way to support the mental health of a number of educators around the world and still stands as one of my proudest achievements.

Coding Evening

As well as being passionate about all things relating to teaching computer science, I also organise Coding Evenings in Twickenham. Coding Evenings are networking and fun evenings designed to allow teachers the opportunity to discover new resources in a relaxed and informal environment.
